My steering wheel is shaking, do I need an alignment?
Typically, a shake or vibration in the steering wheel is caused by a tire issue and not an alignment. Generally, an alignment issue will cause the vehicle to drift or pull to one side or the other or cause accelerated tire wear. Usually a shake or vibration is due to either a tire balance or tire condition.
Why do I need to rotate my tires?
Rotating the tires on a regular basis will help to maximize the life you get from your tires. Especially on a front wheel drive car the front tires transmit power and also steer the vehicle which will cause the tires to wear faster. Any vehicle regardless of the type of drive system will wear the front tires faster as they do the steering and the nature of turning the wheels will scrub the tread off the tires faster. Rotating tires helps to minimize the accelerated wear.
Why do I need my brake fluid changed?
Brake fluid by nature is “hygroscopic” which means it has a tendency to absorb moisture. Many components in the brake system are metal and moisture is a natural enemy of metal. With the new ABS and traction control systems on vehicles when they activate they generate heat which breaks down the fluid. As brake fluid ages it can become contaminated with small particles which deteriorate the fluid and lowers the boiling point of the fluid which can affect the ABS and traction control systems. Fresh fluid also helps to keep failure rates low on expensive components like the ABS actuator which can cost several thousand dollars to replace.
How often do I need my air filter changed?
The manufacturer recommends replacing them at least every 30,000 miles but depending on where you are driving and the time of the year they can need changing as frequently as 10,000-15,000 miles. We perform a multi-point inspection at every service and we will advise you on the condition of your filters and recommend them as needed.
Why should I buy tires from you instead of Costco, Tires Plus…?
We offer the same tires as our competitors. We do offer a price match with local competitors on an “apples to apples” comparison. Our tires come with a no cost 2-year road hazard warranty which is usually an additional cost at most other competitors. There are instances that even though the tires appear to be the same brand and model as what we offer the tire dealer will have the tire manufacturer make them a tire that is not the same specifications as what we offer. We offer alignment services that you cannot get at other tire retailers. An alignment is always recommended when you replace tires to make sure you get the maximum life from the tires. Our technicians are trained to work on your vehicle. As long as you are servicing your vehicle with us we can be your “one-stop” shop for all your vehicle needs.
